The State of Denim Jeans In 2022: Skinnies Are Dead

Forget skinny jeans, it’s roomy pants season.

Skinny jeans were dethroned back in 2021, folks. Phew. I love a pair of comfy and soft leg hugging pair, no doubt but I’m starting to fall in love with a lot of the voluminous denim jeans variety out there. I’m a fan of comfy jogger silhouette and if it’s in denim, I honestly feel, I’d rocked the bottom out more often than say the skinny variety especially when temps go up here in humid Malaysia. In other news, Mexicans love denim! They’re the biggest denim consumer across the globe. From high-waisted relaxed denim pants to super wide jeans, the denim market is expected to grow.

If you’re a fan of jeans, what sort of denim trousers that you found yourself wearing during the funky two years of stay-at-home shenanigans? Mine was still the denim of the skinny variety though I must confess I only ever wore them out instead as I don’t wear jeans at home. For these past few months at home, the only denim I wore was a denim skirt with buttons.

In the near future, I’m welcoming roominess in my selection of silhouette for my jeans! They just look so easy to slip into (hello meaty leg gang!) and I’m pretty certain, I’d wear them endlessly should the jeans be extra soft and breathable! Can’t ever forget about this tropical humidity, folks!
