Fashionista NOW: Statement Flared Midi Skirts Fashion Inspiration

Midi skirts are a trending summer staple. Want to make a bold feminine fashion statement with a full flare-cut midi skirts this season. Scroll on!

A midi skirt rendered in an A-line style silhouette is a retro 50s trend that is ever relevant in any warm-blooded lady’s wardrobe.

A statement midi skirt with bold patterns and colors can be part of your chill-out, office-ready or party-worthy attire depending on how you go about styling them.

How to wear statement midi skirts with a flare cut?

Although they are said to partner up well with crop tops, you can always inject your own interpretations if midriff-baring is not your cup of tea. With a flared midi in particular, it is vital to balance the fluffy or heavy bottom with something that is fitted on top.

Pick blouses or tees that have structure, fit and can be worn tucked in if you are opting out of the crop top route. With loud and busy prints such as vibrant florals or any art-inspired motif decorating your skirt, it is best to keep the top muted in classic color palettes or in a solid block of color that is also present in your skirt so that the look is tied together.

If you are keen on color-blocking, bright colored midi skirts can be paired with a colored top and are particularly romantic if they come in soft pleats. It is easy to look frumpy in any flared skirt if you haphazardly top off your look with a slouchy or structure-less top.

To prevent that, make sure to pop on a belt to give a definition back to your waistline. This can be done minus the belt with a crop top or any tucked in fitted top. The idea is to make sure that you don’t lose your proportions. Wide belts can add unnecessary weight back to your form thus a thin variety is much preferable.

Searching for a skirt to wear for the upcoming Eid?

Well, midi skirts are a great addition due to their modest hemlines. Aside from flowy A-line silhouettes, you can also opt for a pencil cut midi skirts in your favorite color or print.
