Pink is an energetic color, kind of like tangerine orange, electric blue, or that neon purple but is much more controversial in comparison as it is the color that is often assigned exclusively to the female side of the spectrum, especially in the more gender-divisive and dismissive places but this, as you have probably noticed is a fast eroding thought as colors are sexless and that men can wear pink without having their masculinity turned into a giant question mark. Alas, we are not going to let that spoil the fun in slipping into a bright pink summer frock as fashion, to my understanding, isn’t supposed to be taken heavy like that extra cheese atop of your slice of pizza.

Coming from the newly-reborn pink-adoring convert that I am, I think that bright and bold shades of pink are so much fun as it screams playful, cheery, charming and wait for it…oh so CHIC! As a pop of color, shades of pink are a pretty excellent and effective way to brighten up an outfit as they are too when worn more adventurously through the form of a short dress this summer.
