Peplum kurung style ideas for your upcoming Raya 2017 OOTD.
Peplum remains one of the highly-coveted trends when it comes to the ladies who are ready to slay the style game come Hari Raya 2017. Blame it on the enchanting waist flare for all you care but it’s clear that seasons after seasons, Malaysian women are always up for any peplum iterations whether they’re casual or dressy.
I remember thinking last year that peplums will inevitably slide into the background of fashion but lo and behold, it is everywhere, still and very much wanted. Since you are here, you must be quite the peplum fan and I know you’ve seen your share of peplums. The collection of baju kurung that I’m about to share down below is from Vercato and Zuco Fashion.
What I like about Vercato’s peplum kurung is their strong emphasis on simplicity which is conveyed through the use of a neutral and highly versatile color palette. The floral sequin embellishments that decorate the shoulder area show a restrained yet strategic placement to add a visual oomph to a minimalist kurung.
The Zuco Fashion’s modern peplum kurung, on the other hand introduce the play or prints that are present either on the peplum blouse or mermaid-style skirt. Two skirts are rendered in the popular leopard motif, creating a visual boldness to offset the solid-colored top. The solo monochromatic kurung has a charming heart patterned top making it very contemporary.
The peplum waists on the Vercato kurung play on the asymmetrical effect, giving the wearer a more elongating look. The Zuco Fashion’s baju kurung utilize a high-low peplum design with subtle gathers to create a fluid effect.
