Fashionista NOW: Dainty Open Cuff Style Jewelry Inspiration

Dainty Open Cuff Style Jewelry Inspiration

I am a fan of negative space in jewelry design and one of the jewelry trends that incorporates this is the cuff style bracelets, ring and necklaces. Strategic gaps are where it’s at!

With a cuff design, the bracelet (ring or necklace) spans the wrist (finger or neck) but with a distinct opening or space with which the wearer can slip the wrist, (finger or neck by) tentatively stretching it just a little bit. The cuff bracelet, ring or necklace can be wide/thick or narrow/thin and it fits the wrist, ring and neck snugly when worn.

The cuff style design on its own is nothing new as it stretches back thousands of years in time worn by the people of Asian, Native Americans and Ancient Celts cultures. Today, coupled with this season’s penchant for the clean, dainty, minimalist and geometric designs, the final look is rather chic. There’s that word again: chic. Perhaps, I should say that it is a wearable jewelry style that can be worn by all regardless of age. I would also add that the open cuff look is modern and elegant too but this is open for interpretation and that’s for you to decide.

Scroll on to see some of my favorite cuff style jewelry and tell me if you like the look of it too:

What do you think of the open cuff style jewelry trend? Would you wear it? Share your thoughts – I’d love to know what you think!

  • I love the negative space in jewelry, too! I actually used to be all about the statement pieces- the louder and chunkier, the better. But now my heart rolls over every time I see a delicate cuff or those gorgeous midi rings. I’m a total sucker for those. Lovely roundup of products- you’re making me itch to buy a couple :)

    • Oh wow, Marlen, the poet, I can’t believe you’ve stopped by my blog – this has really put a big smile on my face. I’m such an admirer of your written work. The few pages of poetry I’ve read from your book Ugly People Beautiful Hearts, had put me in a spell. Ahh!! Thank you so much for swinging by and making me so weirdly happy, hehe! =D xx

These are all gorgeous! Would be wonderful to mix-and-match some of the different open cuff styles!
