Good Hope Dynamics : Trapped in guilt – shot using Kodak Colorplus 200 + Canon Av1 + Canon 50mm f1.4 SSC (Malaysia)

A young boy and his little sister went to their grandparent’s house which was a rural area for the holidays. One afternoon, the boy went behind the house and tested his slingshot. He aimed at one of his grandmother’s ducks and shot its head, it killed the duck.

The boy realizing what he has done was filled with guilt, he took the dead duck and hid it. However, his sister saw the whole thing.
That night after dinner, his sister was told to do the dishes but she told the boy to do it for her or she will tell their grandmother what happened to the duck. The boy filled with fear and guilt went and did it for her.

For the next few days his sister continued to blackmail him to do her chores until the boy finally had enough and decided to confess to his grandmother.

When he did, his grandmother said “I already saw what you did and I love you and had already forgave you, I only wanted to see how long you were going to let your sister trap you in your own fear“.

Most times when we sin, we try to hide it or avoid it because of our fear and guilt. But that is when the devil can use your hidden sin to attack you.

You might think you are unforgivable and try to find some way to justify yourself but no amount of good can cover up our sins. Religions, since they are man-made, would try to find some way to free themselves of sin by coming up with lots of rules and justifications such as doing more good to cover up your evil.

But that would just be bribing God, if someone has committed murder and they told the judge “Yes, I have murdered someone, but i also helped an old woman cross the street” what do you think the judge would say?

A righteous judge would tell the defendant “what are you talking about? you can’t bribe me with good works, you’ve already done the crime“. If your ‘good works cover sin‘ justification doesn’t work on a righteous judge, what makes you think it would work on a Holy and Righteous God?

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.1 John 1:9

But there’s good news! Because God loves us, God sent His Son Jesus Christ 2000 years ago down to earth to die for all our sins, and 3 days later Jesus resurrected and went back to be with God. So because He has taken all our sins, we can be free of our sins because Someone had already paid our fine, and all we have to do is repent and accept Jesus into our lives as Lord and Savior, that is how much God Loves us!

But what is Love?

Is it sex? Is it an emotion? A feeling?

Or is there something more?

You won’t have to wonder for long!

Hi, my name is Jo, I has gone through much emotional abuse, my life have been full of depressions but God reached out to me and gave me a place to be free of all the negativity.

Even though I was deep in the darkness, God helped me out slowly but surely despite the circumstances I was in and now I am glad to be sharing God’s love with you!

Good Hope Dynamics is about sharing the Love of God through film photography because His eternal goodness and power is clearly visible and discernible through each and every texture of His creations.
