Fashionista NOW: Sporty Chic Fashion Inspiration

Chic and sporty are no longer at odds with one another as trendy athletic wear begs to be made relevant in your spring closet.

So, here’s that nagging feeling again that your wardrobe’s in need of a routine style boost and you’re experiencing the dread of not stepping up your (fashion) game.

No worries, with sporty luxe being one of the celebrated trends on the runways of the previous and present year, you’d have an inkling or two that sports fashion trend is indeed one of the chicest routes to go this season.

Once sportswear moves outside the territory of the gym, fashion lovers can breathe a sigh of relief as comfort and practicality become the norm of the fashionable this year.

Slouchy design isn’t easily reduced as mere slob and wearing painful footwear is no longer obligatory to be the fashion geek.

As feet-friendly sneakers, and non-constrictive pants and fuss free tops take over our modern wardrobe, slowly but surely awareness that our natural body shapes are not our enemy begins to resurface.

And the no-nonsense athletic clothing and footwear will have you come up with such diverse chic outfit styles that can be brought to fit into every occasion that you will have to squeal in delight.

For an outfit to be called chic, it needs a streamlined touch to bring in necessary form so that the relaxed/slouchy aspect of the silhouette is tastefully balanced out. Although fashion gets a sporty and a more laidback transformation, it certainly isn’t green light for sloppy dressing.

A sporty chic look may involve wearing loose sweatpants but to reveal that some effort and thought have been put in, opt for a dressy top or a structured blouse in your favorite print styling. Shoes may break or make this look so I’d urge the wearer to style it off with a pointy pump in a reasonable heel.

You may finish with a sporty snapback hat but that’s completely optional and will depend on the overall vibe that you want your outfit to ooze off.

It’s best to have a few sporty pieces than to go all head-to-toe with everything sportswear unless you’re heading to the court for some back-breaking practice that involves, well, sports.

With that being said, let’s take a peek at how lookbookers are wearing their fashionable sporty looks down below, and some sporty chic polyvore sets to get your fashion juices running:
