Fashionista NOW: CHIC Mandarin Collar Hi-Low Blouses For CNY Fashion 2016

If making a statement of your style persuasion in a minimalist fashion is something you’d like to do this Lunar New Year, why not do it with a top that actually pops?

As I’ve mentioned plenty times before, dressing need not be such an elaborate affair when you can focus on one half of your outfit, making it do all the talking. In this particular case, a top that marries the traditional with the modern is the focus.

This top styling in particular stood out for me when I first eyeballed it and I nearly yelped in a cartoon sort of way ( because I’m not in public and have no concern for being perceived as strange in my own work space ) because I love the mandarin collar style and that it’s featured in this blouse with a high low silhouette that I’ve frankly had enough in dresses! I thought I would hate it after more eyeballing of all angles but nope, my heart was taken.

The combination of the hi-low hemline on a button-up blouse that’s relaxed and kind of crop-ish in front coupled with the delightful oriental mandarin collar makes for such an unexpected dramatic finish that is also toned down due the lack of print and the choice of only neutral and pastel color palettes.

So ladies, if you’re the kind of dresser who has love for unique statement pieces, I feel that this would be top you’d fancy or am I mistaken? It offers the right dosage of a visual POP through the mixing of a high-neck design and an exaggerated low hem that dips in the back, creating a backdrop of sort for the pants or skirt that you find yourself wearing. Due to the volume and movement of the longer back hem and how the blouse slightly flares out, pants that taper or stick closely to your legs or a skirt in a pencil cut would be great choices for a balanced look. Obviously, if you’re an adventurous fashionista, you can think more outside this safe style box.

These blouses come from a new clothing label I’m only just seeing on ZALORA and it is called FLEURÉ and oh my goodness, they have quite an array of chic harem pants too. I’ll save that for another time because for now, let us feast our eyeballs on the selection below.
