Fashionista NOW: Handcrafted Summer Leather Sandals + Boho Bags With A Social Mission

Satisfy your need for cool summer sandals and bags while giving back to the world with Pulaa.

Some of us are restless for the sunnier months to arrive and with the season’s change, there might be a need to spruce up your dusty summer shoe and bag collections. What better way to do that when you can be in fashion while contributing back to the world.

Pulaa brand seeks to bridge the connection between the creative artisanal communities and your needs for fashionable and unique handmade accessories that they create. When you purchase any of the eye-catching accessories, you will be supporting their cause to help the artisans in various communities, especially the Wayuu tribe (living in the La Guajira – a striking desert spot, between northern Colombian and Venezuela) that has a creative hand in making the unique bags and shoes. Pulaa also contributes to the underprivileged kids from various communities it is working with.

When I first stumbled across Pulaa on their Instagram, I quickly became fond of their Sahuayo line of handcrafted leather sandals. There are three lines altogether, available just in time to give your feet some much need sunshine while keeping them comfortable and secure: Sahuayo, Morelia and Sayula. These lightweight sandals will be a breeze to wear with your Spring and Summer OOTDs and their design and color usage are so on point, they ooze boho vibes instantly.

Some are in neutral color schemes you can pair with just about any outfits while some are more vibrant and colorful, they can be your statement footwear. The leather sandals are handmade in Michoacan, Mexico.

Here are the ones my feet (and I’m sure yours too) would be beyond thrilled to slip into:

And another two Pulaa accessories that made me drool for quite a bit were the collection of clutches, handmade in Oaxaca, Mexico and the bohemian style crochet knapsack bag handmade in La Guajira.

More about Pulaa:

Pulaa accessories are sold at a fair price that pays the exquisite work of artisans in Peru, Colombia and Mexico, amongst others, who work under our umbrella.

In its commitment to contribute to the development of these areas, Pulaa donates 1€ of every sale in projects related to them, and collaborates punctually on specific causes.

At this moment, Pulaa contributes to the Spanish NGO KUBUKA-Más por Ellos, who works for the development of marginal neighbourhoods in Kenya and Zambia. Pulaa contributes by purchasing diapers for the little ones at the LISHA CHILDREN’S HOME, shelter for orphaned, abandoned or hopeless children.

Pulaa is preparing a forthcoming project with children in Maicao, in La Guajira (Colombia), an area where our Wayuu Bags are manufactured.
