Fashionista NOW: Trendy Footwear ~ Ankle Strap Shoe Trend

Ankle strap shoes are officially in this year. Not that they’ve ever been out, mind you. What’s with the sudden spike of love for these timless shoe style, particularly the single strap ones?

It’s more of a practical choice considering that global warming is making it unappealing to be walking in sticky sweaty feet.

Ankle strap heels, sandals or flats are easily the shoe staple of the heat-y season as they allow our poor feet some room to breathe while looking superbly stylish.

While they’re essentially a feminine never-out-of-style classic that is often the go-to statement shoe among ladies with reasonable shoe style appetite; for the chunky clunky shoe obsessed, these shoes understandably represent a fresh and practical alternative.

I never share the liking for huge clunky shoes but this ankle strap shoe trend I can wrap my feet, I mean head around. They’re just chic, so easy to slip on and pretty-looking in a very understated way. As long as the heels aren’t too tall or too thin, I’m sold.

What’s even more awesome is that this shoe style can be dressed up or down depending on the outfit you’re wearing.

Keep it casual by wearing them with slouchy top and acid wash jeans. Wear the single strap heels with a structured dress rendered in abstract prints for a look that’s dressy. Make it work-appropriate by wearing them with your work clothing.

Now tell me how versatile is that, eh?

Anyway, here’s a roundup of trendy lookbookers sporting the back-on-trend ankle strap shoes for your inspiration:

black ankle strap heels – Zara

ankle strap single sole pumps – Charlotte Russe

ankle strap wedges – Jelly Beans

wide heel ankle strap sandals – Zara

ankle strap heels – Mango

black and white ankle strap heels – Mossimo

So ladies, are you a fan of this shoe trend already? Do you think it’ll ever be out of fashion? I’m sure never but the same can’t be said of clunky chunky shoe breed that I personally find visually-grating. Any thoughts to share? Drop them down below please!
