When the mini and maxi skirts do nothing but bore you, count on the midi skirt to get your style mojo back! Click on to soak up on how to wear the returning skirt trend stylishly this season.
The young generation may refer to the midis as the awkward length skirt to be banish from any hip lass’ closet, but who’d have thought that the 1950s signature skirts are coming back into fashion despite these less than stellar perceptions.
While the mini and maxi skirts appeal to the spirit of the contemporary masses, the fashion powers that be have decided to spice things up a little bit by pushing the retro midi skirts back into the spotlight which were seen on the runways for Céline and Prada for Autumn/Winter fashion this year.
What wasn’t really in style is now predictably recycled back as the young and fashionable take a plunge into the so-called loathable skirt length; such is the way of fashion.
Call it a fad until a remarkable number of people begins to wear it and then it evolves to become a trend which easily satisfies the wearer of said trend and gradually, the fashion trend becomes a source of annoyance as it’s worn to death.
With skirts though, the impact is much subtler as they are considered a classic staple for some more than just a passing fad.
Skirt length, on the other hand is where the focus lies and the midi skirts’s return I believe, reflects a period of time when we just need a break away from the predictable skirt lengths.
With the cooling temperatures, it’s also more than practical to slip into a midi rather than a mini minus the commitment of a full length skirt, don’t you think?
With the midi skirts returning in style, what better way than to bring a little nostalgia back into your wardrobe by wearing the charming skirt with the controversial hem length.

“All fashions are charming, or rather relatively charming, each one being a new striving, more or less well conceived, after beauty, an approximate statement of an ideal, the desire for which constantly teases the unsatisfied human mind.” – Charles Baudelaire
