Yes, I confess I’m loving the simplicity of monochromatic stripe fashion trend that’s in season this year. If you’ve got a striped top lying around gathering dust because pairing it with shorts and skinny jeans is so over and done with, then this piece is dedicated to you. Go on, click on: I know you want to.
Let’s please not mind that the majority of the looks I’ve selected here are pretty much black and white with subtle pop of color by way of accessories.
My inner fashionista seems to be having a crush on a minimalistic form of style that it has no where else to go but back to the basics.
With the rainy and gloomy season serving as the backdrop of my current style setting, the simpler an outfit is, the better.
And that is why striped tops, jumpers, sweaters, tees, shirts, crop tops or whatever style of tops in stripes you have hanging in your closet shall be the center of our intense focus this time.
How to style your striped tops?
Now that we’ve got the top part of our ensemble figured out. To make it extremely simple, I’ve figured that the simplest yet feminine partner for the stripes are skirts of any style that you’re most likely to wear. Easy, right?
Now, if you’ve just groaned and eye-rolled at my suggestion, scroll down immediately to the roundup lookbooks below and prepare to have your mind changed.
I personally am fascinated with the midi skirt as worn by the stunning and stylish Sonya Karamazova in the top intro pic.
The length itself is not too short or too long, just perfect for comfort and practicality as you step on cold rainy asphalt (I loathe maxi skirts with hemlines that graze the ground). The pleated detailing is gentle enough that it turns into ruffles as it goes down towards the hem.
Midi skirt aside, surely there are other skirt trends that you’d prefer to be paired with your chic striped top. Look nowhere but below for a quick fashion inspiration.
