A black blazer is a classic wardrobe staple that can lend a structural element into any outfit. Wonder how to whip a modern look out of the typically-office-worthy piece? Read on.
When you think of blazers, you think of power suits and business-y outfits. But as fashion becomes more about breaking perceived conventional rules, let’s not stop there. Make blazers fun and relevant again this season, especially when the mood to layer comes around as we battle to adapt against unpredictable weather. While a cardigan may provide an alternative layering option that is more off-duty and casual, a blazer enhances the structure of an outfit’s silhouette adding a sophisticated oomph to it. And who doesn’t want that, eh?
As always, let’s take a look at how lookbookers are wearing the classic black blazer trend for a healthy dose of fashion inspiration:
For a look that is effortlessly — wait for it — chic that relies on a basic combo of tank/tee and fitted jeans, a black blazer adds a formal feel to the casual layer underneath. Don’t forget to slip on the right shoes to complement that dressed-up vibe. Slinky ankle strap high heels work like magic.

So, you have a black and white striped dress that screams casual and girly. Toughen it up with a boxy black blazer worn unbuttoned. Pop on a statement necklace and a pair of t-strap heels to finish off a proper night on-the-town look.

Need a look that blurs into the the men-inspired and sporty categories? Top a skinny long black blazer over your white-tee-and-black-skinny-pants combo. Finish off with a pair of black sneaker wedges and classic sling clutch for a look that is streamlined and monochromatic.

Crop top and a blazer? Yup, it’s doable as long as you love exposing your midriff. Take a cue from Pamela as she wears her black blazer that features a cute polka dot lining over a white high neck crop top and white jeans. Wear sneakers for a casual contrast and carry a rectangular clutch to up your outfit’s level of sophistication.

Thank you for swinging by Jamie :) <3 xx
I love how blazers can dress up any outfit no matter what you wear. From wearing a skater dress to a tee and joggers, blazers really make an outfit chic! I love pairing a blazer with a dress in the autumn time because it’s a bit cooler to wear a cardigan, but not cold enough yet so I can still wear dresses! I really liked Miu’s outfit in this article! Have a lovely week ahead of you! (:
