Let’s go boho-chic ladies! I must be having a bohemian fever. Every time I window shop, I see boho-inspired clothing and accessories everywhere and I’m tempted to go full-blown boho. The only thing that’s stopping me is the balance on my bank account. And then I stumbled into the boho-chic fashion arena that infuses the crazy all-out elements of the hippie and the elegance that can be teased out by mixing your own unique styles with it. Do I love it? You bet I do.
Boho-chic by definition is a female fashion style that takes on a variety of bohemian and hippie influences. I personally feel that it crosses into the gypsy fashion. The word “chic” – which means stylish/elegant is a French word that became popular in the late 19th.
In this piece we shall find out how you can achieve the boho-chic look without breaking into a sweat.
Think of flowing garments and earthy tones. Boho-chic is often characterized by long dresses or skirts and while the colors are usually in earthy tones, you may incorporate bright colors like turquoise and orange.

Fabric Patterns
When you’re going for a boho-chic look, think about natural motifs such as flowers or leaves and other ethnic-inspired styles (check out my previous article about Batik for some creative ideas). Images of animals such as birds, deer or foxes are also uncommon.
Feathers of birds have been utilized as embellishments to accentuate the boho-chic look even more. Please refrain from plucking out the feathers of real birds, chickens, ducks or peacocks, however.
Boho-chic Makeup
Keep your face fresh and dewy. If you’re going to use foundation, make sure it is sheer. Cakey face is best saved for clowns.
The eyes are the window to the soul and when it comes to boho-chic eye makeup, you want to make them stand out. Bright colors are often used, but if the black eye liner is your best friend, you can definitely create the mysterious winged-out look that never fails to captivate.
