Fashionista NOW: Androgynous Chic Fashion Inspiration

To dress like a boy(man) when you’re a girl(woman) at this fashion juncture is not only cool, but supremely liberating! Check out the cool ways to don an androgynous chic look and nail it like a pro.

When I was a highschooler (and a college student), I only ever liked wearing pants and shirts. So were my friends although they’d freely change it up to a girly wardrobe of flowy dresses and long billowy skirts at the drop of a hat should the setting required it so.

I find that for some girls, there is ease and comfort in alternating between the two modes of dressing and that there is no visible line that separates the two. After all, it’s all just clothes, at the end of the day. For others with gender identity disorder, this presents a distinct challenge as they are attempting to dress a certain way to reflect the gender they identify with most strongly.

For me, although it’s crystal clear that I feel female yet dressing so feminine still triggers a feeling of discomfort. I mean, on casual days when I am most comfortable and the weather’s not too hot, I’d choose to wear tees and jeans every single time. A sundress has never been part of my wardrobe equation and even though I used to wear dresses in the years before puberty, it was only within the house.

When men-inspired fashion became a thing and dressing boyishly falls under another fashion-statement category, not only that it expands the wardrobe of the girl(woman) that she can raid the other gender’s thin stack of clothing and justify the act, dressing becomes a liberating affair as we become aware of that it changes with the norm of the times.

If you love the boy look (or just the casual style that can be sported by another lad) and would like to give your gender-bending wardrobe a refreshing update, have fun scrolling down and grabbing style pointers from these trendy lookbookers below.
