What to wear with patterned palazzo pants? Answers here!
This question popped up in an email sent by a reader who has a pair of patterned wide-leg pants from a collection of hand-me-downs that she plans on wearing but unsure how to pull off in terms of styling.
My advice would be to keep the focus on the pants. A printed palazzo can be the main visual magnet of the outfit if you choose to keep it that way. A top worn tucked in in a neutral color would be a great option. Or, you may opt for a blouse with a waist-cinch and wear it in a loose on loose silhouette style.
Another way to style a printed palazzo if the motif on the pants comes in a black and white color combo is to go bold on top in strong solid chunk of color like yellow, red, blue, green, purple or pink. The fun inclusion of color can bring an added oomph into your look.
The classic, minimalist way is to wear a white/off-white-/beige top, either cropped or tucked into your printed palazzo pants. This circles back to my first most recommended style method mentioned above as it will be the most foolproof way to sport a patterned bottom in the way that is most contemporary.
To layer over your top and palazzo combo, you can go for a the long-line outerwear style that will give your look a pretty chic vibe.
So, these are some of the ways that I would choose to personally wear a patterned palazzo.
For the lovers of print-on-print mixing, go wild on top with another patterned piece that either feature a monochrome vibe or colors that complement the printed bottom. A clash of prints can work in your favor so go all out to match your daring fashion passion.
