Make the plaid scarf is your best friend this season. For comfort and style, scarfs in a tartan print of your preference will take your outfit out of the style rut ASAP.
A guy wore a t-shirt dress like the Biebs and got bombarded with vitriolic comments. One even compared the t-shirt-dress-appreciating bloke to a dumpster-raiding creature because well words typed on keyboards can feel like therapy for some. If we are to live with a mindset that words alone are an invitation for monstrous behavior, then we humans are in deep trouble.
Though I’m no fan of Bieber or Jaden, with the shitty things that are taking place all across the globe, from Japan to Paris, I take no issue with young men who feel comfiest in shirt dresses worn with pants any day because I get the privilege of sitting here in my lousy chair typing away on things like gee, how do I step out in clothes without looking like they look like exactly yesterday’s outfit?.
With Paris in shock and mourning (one just can’t fathom how such a thing could happen in this city! I know wars are happening left and right in middle-eastern countries, but this in Paris, I can’t wrap my head around, especially after the Charlie Habdo killings), all I can think of right now is just how horrifying what a human being can do to another even in a place most equated with love, beauty and culture. And why, why, oh why.
I am about to segued awkwardly into something very trivial in contrast to what is happening in the world right now, but it has to be done in this space.
It’s November and by now, all the clothes you’ve been wearing have all gone through the cycle of wear and repeat that one thing you can do to quickly enliven your wardrobe’s cool factor while remaining functional in the cold weather is utilizing the PLAID scarf!
Far from being a new trend at all, I know. Bet you’ve seen it and done it but because I don’t wear much plaid for some reason and so am inclined to think a little dosage of plaid in the form of a scarf can be a nice starting point to a tartan adventure for those not usually in flannels.
The looks below will hopefully capture how handy and trendy a scarf in a tartan print can be when worn against outfits of various styles, but especially ones in a neutral color scheme.
