Okay so, pastel shades keep popping up but it’s only because they’re just so effortlessly sweet, charming, delicate and even romantic. Here’s yet another post on pastel-themed baju kurung modern because some of us can’t get enough of it.

There’s a solid reason why it’s easy to come back to pastels when other colors or mix of prints won’t do. As the mood for clean and fuss-free designs in Raya 2016 collection gets stronger, I’m automatically inclined to rest my eyeballs on something sweet, with very little embellishments and if they come in prints, they better be monochromatic and barely noticeable as I just cannot get with the big, decorative, gaudy motifs in eye-blinding colors at the moment with the only exception being Sazzy Falak’s SFKL Eid collection because hey, it’s so boho chic!

If for example, the kurung design is textured, or has pleats, frills or ruffles, I’d rather that it’s rendered on a solid color as opposed to busy prints. And thus, you’ll be seeing more of this style of kurung or kebaya or dresses in this space for I’m living the less in more this season. Am I being boring? Or is it just a reflection of my mental state at the moment? I think it’s very well the latter. What about you ladies? Are you a fan of clean, minimal looks?
