Geometric Rhombus Necklaces Jewelry Inspiration

Another day, another geometric jewelry inspo! This time, it’s in the shape of a rhombus, as pendants on necklaces.

A rhombus is a word that has Greek roots. It comes from the a word rhombos that means “something that spins” and another word rhembowhich means “to turn round and round”. As a shape, you will note that it is also referred to as a diamond in the context of the diamond suits in playing cards and a lozenge. The latter traces back into the Neolithic and Paleolithic times in Eastern Europe, symbolizing sown or planted field and female fertility.

The rhombus shape is also found in alchemist philosophies with the four sides representing air, earth, water and fire. Symbolism aside, like the triangle, the rhombus is utilized a lot in jewelry-making. It is, to many people, another geometric shape that is easy on the eyes. The shape is used not only as pendants on necklaces, but also on earrings and bracelets.

For this piece, I’ve selected 7 rhombus necklaces to share with you hoping that you’ll like them as much as I do.
