Fashionista NOW: The Beanie Trend

Beanies or the snugly skull caps have been spotted on heads of celebs for a while now that they’ve become a hip hat trend among the young and fashionable.

It kills two birds with one stone, blending functionality with the desire to sport that laid-back effortless cool look that is purposefully hipster-ish slouchy. Not that you need to be a hipster to rock a beanie.

In my musings of the beanie trend, I immediately think of Eminem and his aloof don’t-mess-with-me look. At least in popular fashion, the beanie often follows a certain aura of I-don’t-give-a-toss-how-I-look-today.

Lately though, the soft nonchalant headgear has been seen as part of a casual to semi-formal look. Celebs like Katy Perry and Taylor Swift have revealed to the fashion world that you can wear the beanie and still look like you’ve given time and effort to groom yourself. So, no, you don’t need to don a full-on slouchy lazy look to work it.

Obviously, there’s no right/wrong way to wear the beanie but if you’d like to find out how to wear it in style, please let these stylish lookbookers show you how:

So, how do you wear the beanie as part of your fashion statement? Do you think it’s a cool accessory to wear regardless of weather or that it’s just simply a head piece to hide a seriously bad hair day? Share below.
