Colored beanies can be all you need to brighten up your wardrobe while keeping you warm. Not sure how to wear colored beanies? Then, click on for some outfit ideas with colored beanies.
I don’t like having things on my head when I’m out and about. So, naturally, beanies and I have a complicated relationship. As an instant fix for a bad hair day, they do make a handy topper. But then again, flat hair isn’t pretty. So, I’m not too sure why anyone would even bother with beanies in the first place unless it’s freezing cold which is never the case here in Malaysia except if you’re in artificially-chilled settings.
The rainy season, however, brings the rare opportunity to get fancy with a colored beanie and this post is designed to hopefully help you pop on the knit topper and take your outfit up into another level, even if it’s just through the use of a colored head accessory over your most casual garb.
Without further ado, let’s move on to the fashion imagery below for the obligatory style inspiration:
Breezy cold day at the shoreline necessitates the use of a beanie. Something in deep purple/burgundy fits the mood of the season.
♥ | Pamela Hinojosa
Blue beanie for a sunny day excursion, along with a crop top and jeans with cutout knee and sequined sneakers for a dose of glam and sporty.
♥ | Cheril P.
Wear a beanie over your fully-done up hair the way Cheril does it. Seems like a way to ruin a perfectly styled mane, but a lose and soft beanie will lessen that effect.
♥ | Francis Lola
Fresh mint beanie to revitalize your outfit. Best paired with pastel pink locks.
♥ | Yana Sybiga
Bright pink beanie with a slogan to go with a bright mustard neoprene sweatshirt for a bold color-blocking statement. Mirrored sunnies, boyfriend jeans, see-through clutch and chunky sandals complete the look.

“The richness of the rain made me feel safe and protected; I have always considered the rain to be healing—a blanket—the comfort of a friend. Without at least some rain in any given day, or at least a cloud or two on the horizon, I feel overwhelmed by the information of sunlight and yearn for the vital, muffling gift of falling water.” — Douglas Coupland, Life After God

Haha…I feel the same way about beanies…our relationship is rather complicated. I have exactly one beanie – a black cashmere number from COS – and I only wear it when it’s really necessary. Beanies make me look a bit like a poodle with pompoms of hair left and right. That being said, I do think that they can inject a big fat amount of cool into an outfit.
