Unleash your inner romantic this Valentine’s by slipping into a vintage dress (vintage-inspired will also do). Scour our favorite romantic vintage dresses to pick up an idea or two.
Vintage dresses come by a variety. And we all know that a romantic dress does not exist without a romantic wearer. So, a romantic dress, by my goofy definition is something that a romantic would wear to become extra romantic.
The sort of vintage dress that I’m particularly smitten with has that trademark figure-friendly silhouette, all flowy and ladylike, cinched just so at the waistline, modest neckline, fitted just so at the top, hemline grazing below-the-knee or mid-calf and an all over feel that’s utterly effortless and nostalgic.
Well, that is my idea of a retro romantic dress. What about you?
What to wear for V-day?
For those running out of ideas on just what to wear on your date night, a romantic vintage dress in a style that you appreciate would be the place to start. The easy-to-slip-on silhouette of a retro frock appeals to all body types as long as it is in your size.
It just flows and follows your natural curves so you can gobble up a little more during dinner and not have to worry if the love handles are exploding. Furthermore, the exquisite tailoring is a feature that will have all other modern options beaten.
Little details in a dress do really matter and set it a part. A vintage dress, with all its modest and understated appeal, has something that the mass-produced one does not: Love showing through in the dressmaking.
And for V-day, what better way than to slip into a dress made with passion and stood the hands of time, yes?

“I don’t think that people should wear dresses two sizes too small. I just think that sexiness is better left to the imagination. It’s just more tasteful.” – Rachel Zoe
