Fashionista NOW: Panda Prints Fashion Inspiration

What’s the next fresh and rare animal print to don this season? Pandas to add a playful flair into your wardrobe!

Pandas are known for their distinguished fur coloring; large black patches around the eyes, over the ears and across the body.

They are elusive creatures with a highly developed sense of smell that they utilize this ability to avoid other pandas and to detect the presence of females pandas during mating season that takes place in the spring.

They may appear sedentary but are excellent swimmers and tree climbers. Though labeled as a carnivore, their diet consists of 99% bamboo shoots, stems and leaves.

As a spirit animal, the panda is a symbol of strength and gentleness. Under the soft and fuzzy exterior, the panda — as an animal totem — signifies the importance of strong personal boundaries to feel safe and grounded in life.

On fashion runways, we hear of panda eyes referring to the dramatic black eye makeup that models are seen wearing as they flaunt high fashion designer clothing.

Panda eye makeup in real life for mere mortals is usually the unintended result of oily lids, salty tears and enthusiastic application, and to be avoided. But if you belong to the emo/punk pop star (real or imagined) category like Taylor Momsen, feel free to go all out.

In fashion, apart from being used as a motif on clothing, pandas are also seen on hats, bags, shoes and various accessories.
