Fashionista NOW: How To Style Black Ankle Boots Fashion Inspiration

Black ankle boots are a must-have this season. Find out how to make them work in a myriad of outfit options.

Ankle boots with a chunky (boxy) heel and a mild platform-y sole specifically are a favorite of mine. I like how they look and feel on my pretty flat and square-ish feet. The slight thickness on the base that carries the shoe as long as it’s not in the form of a thin dainty heel is welcome anytime as I am far from graceful when it is to do with walking.

Giant shoe breed the likes of Jeffrey Campbell’s scares me as it is too clunky for my liking. Even though this spiky heel does look fab and edgy, it’s not something I’m comfortable of wearing. As much as I love donning androgynous footwear that often leans on a roomy and less restrictive side, I don’t fancy having any shoe jutting out awkwardly from my legs. Though many people seem to enjoy the inches that these shoes add to their height, I find their monstrous size works against that very aim.

While slouchy and oversized clothing are in and celebrated, gigantic footwear is not part of the trend equation and that I have nothing to complain. As for the hot shoe trend this season, ankle booties are it! For those wondering how to incorporate black ankle booties in a wardrobe with a goal of staying chic and trendy, scroll below:

“Finding a pair of shoes is like looking for a partner. When you feel that you have found the right model, but then there is no longer the right size … you have to be willing to let go of them. When you feel that you have found the right person, but then you find the basic aspects that can not be ignored, compromised, let alone enforced, there is no better way than to let him go. Remain no longer with them, there are still lots of other stores which have a complete stock.”Glad Munaiseche
