Though dinosaurs are extinct, count on the fashion world to bring them back. Take your animal print love right out of the box with dinosaur prints this summer!
Fashion designers cross the predictable animal print territory by venturing outside of the rectangular with the introduction of dinosaur motifs on clothing, bags, shoes and accessories.
Designers Mirko Fontana and Diego Marquez of the au jour le jour, an all-Italian luxury fashion label brought the exotic appeal of dinosaurs into the fashion’s limelight where the carnivorous Tyrannosaurus rex is tamed and rendered covet-worthy as delightful prints on clothing.
Although dinosaurs have long been a presence on children’s clothing where they are portrayed as adorable giant lizards in vivid splash of colors and cartoon-y renditions, they are now designed to appeal across age-brackets.
If you are one to hold the view that dinosaur patterns on clothing are the stuff for children, it is time to rethink and reconsider as the new breed of apparel featuring the extinct Dinosauria is marketed towards the flock of fashionable adults with a penchant for trend-setting.
Let’s not forget that it is truly refreshing to spot a person clad in a dino shirt or dress as opposed to the more prevalent and predictable animal prints like the leopard, cat or the zebra.
If you are in the mood for trying a completely rare animal print, we highly recommend turning your attention to dinos! As always, to the fashion imagery below for how to wear dinosaur prints this season:
