One of Autumn’s highlight colors is dark jewel blue. We show you how to wear black and (dark) blue fashion to ease your wardrobe into the cool yet unpredictable months ahead.
While cobalt and royal blue are dictated by Pantone as the Autumn’s favorite shades of blue amongst others, any dark shade of blue will do as well. Dark blue coupled with black may seem the most subdued and conservative of colors to pair together but the trick is in making the separates work together in a modern manner so that the overall outfit matches the current fashion mood.
Without further ado, feast your eyes upon the sartorially-inclined fashionistas below to learn how to make black and blue work in various outfits without playing it too safe:
Layer an edgy dark blue biker jacket over an all-black outfit made of a boxy crop top, fitted pants and slinky heels. Sprinkle jewelry as preferred. A statement necklace worn over the high neck top helps to break up the monotonous black canvas.
♥ leather midi pleated skirt – Zara | Celeste
Have a magnificent mane already highlighted with a touch of dark blue/purple hue? Use that as the accent color instead! Wear all black like Celeste’s combination of a cropped sweater, pleated midi skirt and a pair of peep toe ankle boots. Decorate the neckline by stacking dainty necklaces for the necessary shine.
♥ midi pencil skirt | Kaj Lydia
Partner an oversized dark blue knit sweater with a black midi pencil skirt for a look that’s comfy yet fashionable. Opt for dark blue booties to tie the look together. Accessorize as needed.
♥ oxford heels – Taobao | Ren Rong
Mix feminine and menswear-inspired elements together by teaming a black cami top and a pair of cuffed vintage trousers in shimmery dark blue. Finish off with dark blue oxford heels for a dressy retro finish.

I love combining black and blue…and white and blue, but I guess the former is a bit more fall and winter friendly. Thanks for sharing. Great inspiration once again :)

Hehe, what I love about wearing black and blue is that it has such a cool tone; it kinda reminds me of a dark Elsa from Frozen! Hahaha. I love Sofia’s outfit because of the leather jacker, of course, but also because of the bold blue of her dress! I like styling black and blue with my trusty black leather jacket and a bold blue skirt with everything else in black! Blue is such a pretty color to wear, hehe. Have a lovely weekend, gorgeous!

It is a cool tone indeed Diane. And it’s cute that you’re reminded of dark Elsa. Hehe! Sofia’s look is super rad – I agree. I know you will not be without your edgy pieces :) Thank you for visiting sweetness! I’ve missed your presence :) xx
