Fashionista NOW: 5 Trendy Ways To Wear Forest Green Fashion Inspiration

Cool weather calls for a cool color. Welcome forest green into your wardrobe with the help of our vital fashion guide.

Forest green evokes a a feeling of comfort and a return to the protective arms of mother nature. Unlike black, where the absence of color serves as a complete background for other colors to stand out, dark forest green — a neutral canvas of sort — retains an air of quiet mystery that can transform an outfit regardless of other colors that it is paired with. This forest-like ambiance is reflected in Johan Ku’s RTW collection for Fall 2014, where deep shades of green, red and metallic become thematic colors that threads through his mostly black pieces. And if you are completely obsessed with chunky knits, the Taipei-born London-based fashion designer is your man.

So, how does one incorporate forest green into a wardrobe? As always, to the selected looks below for an instant fashion inspiration:

green blazer

A minimalist take on the forest green trend by Isabel via a statement blazer in the shade popped over an oversized shirt worn as a dress. Fringed sandals in a similar green shade ties the look together. Isabel Sellés sees life through colors and has a blog called at Un-Likely where she likely shares her collection of outfits and beauty tips.

dark green sweater – Only

Nari Larsen calls her look Forest Flower and we can see why it is. A forest green sweater tucked into a maroon red skirt, a black coat to top it off, a long statement necklace with a ruby red pendant and knee-high boots to complete — her look encapsulates Autumn’s exquisite colors.

sweater – Asos

Timea couples dark green with purple and soft denim blue for a subtle take on the color-blocking trend. She opts for a slouchy silhouette on top and a form-fitting shape down below. Find out more about Timea at Timea-Timbo where she unloads on all things related to fashion, style and beauty.

emerald green skirt – Winners

Christina from The Style Mogul pairs a black collared blouse (which is actually a sleepwear!) with a flirty dark green skirt rendered in an all-over cutout detailing for an eyelet effect. She finishes off her sassy look with a hand-carry bag, statement necklace and edgy strappy heels.

green midi skirt – Zara

Joanna indulges in a little bit of color-blocking as she sprinkles her crop-top-and-dark-green-midi-skirt combo with a bag and pumps both rendered in vibrant blue. A chunky statement necklace embellishes her look, making it dressier than it is without the jewelry.
