Fashionista NOW: 5 Edgy Ways To Style Knit Sweaters Fashion Inspiration

A knit sweater’s softness and lack of structure makes it an easy piece to go with a relaxed outfit. What edgy outfit iterations can you indulge in to take a break from the casual loose silhouettes that the knit wear has been often associated with? Carry on below.

Wearing chunky knit tops on cool days and evenings is one of the best things to do come the gloomy weather. A change in temperature affects us in many ways, but the fashionista uses it to her best potential, even when it’s rainy and wet outside. For a pretty safe dresser like me, the look that I typically don when I opt for a knit sweater involves a form-fitting blue denim with the open knit layered over a tank and my feet snug in a ballet style slip-on shoes (worn with socks should it get any chillier). We are talking about the Malaysian chill, which is not so much of a dry one but quite humid so layering is done very minimally.

Anyway, since I’m looking for a fresher take on styling up the basic knit sweater, Konni’s look (see the image above) has just the right ingredients that I appreciate: the combination of soft comfort from the turtleneck sweater and edgy elements in the form of black knee-slashed jeans, ankle boots with side zip detail and a chain-embellished leather bag. Talking about the ankle boots, I’m wondering which style should I go for – help me pick the right pair here!

The edgy-with-knit outfit as the German fashion blogger aptly calls it as has given me quite the inspiration to style my knit sweater. But since my knees are shy, a pair of intact acid wash jeans will most definitely do. And since I’ve no fancy ankle boots to wear as of right now, I’ll be on a hunt for a pair.
