Bored of your basic ballet flats and the usual girly wedges? Welcome the alternative to both in the form of smoking slippers and sneaker wedges. Excited? I bet you do.
Smoking slippers are this season’s hot flat shoes. They’re like flats but they’re more bespoke in style. They ooze 70s vibe and also, Hugh Hefner.
These sophisticated slip-ons are understated in appearance and are especially made to perfectly blend in with an androgynous type of outfit.
But aren’t we masters of fashion experiment this season?
These smoking slippers are smokin’ for a good reason. They come in a variety of patterns, from animal prints to plaids and more. Those who like it studded, spiked, and glittered will be harassed with endless of choices. Others feature the fancy schamncy cut-out design that’s also big trend this year.

Would You Wear … Smoking Slippers?(College Fashion)
My favorite style of smoking slippers would be those in bright tones of magenta, cobalt blue and bloody red. Although the striking colors may seem a bit loud, you’d be thrilled to know that they’re suprisingly easy to incorporate into just about any outfit you have in the closet regardless of color theme.
A pop of color on the feet can be quite lovely, don’t you think?
On the other hand, sneaker wedges are a bit tricky to pull off. If you’re already a fan of wegdes, this may perhaps be the next footwear staple as long as you’re into the sporty girl look.
The internal lift that comes from the extra padding may be something to love or loathe. Teens and some young adults will be able to rock this trend but I’ll keep feet tucked away from shoes that add height as I wobble far too easily. Even in freakin’ wedges. Sad true story.
