The beginning of 2012 may bring the possibility of finding the perfect romantic partner for you and you may wonder how to get your clothes to reflect a state of mind that is ready for the L word when you go out for the first official date with someone you’ve always had the soft spot for.
Fret not, my dear darlings, I will solve your problems by sharing some wonderful fashionable romantic looks with tips and advice as a bonus to help you find the best romantic look that shows your are ready for the blossoming of a new bond and a much more hopeful beginnings.
Fashion for the romantic by season doesn’t have to be OTT (over the top). It should reflect you; your strengths and vulnerabilities. Your true self, with no frills (except dresses that come with them). So here we go:
The Cozy Romantic
Believe it or not, Olivia is wearing a mustard cardigan/sweater tucked under a high-waisted short corduroy skirt. If you think of the pieces individually, they sure don’t seem to translate into the common notion of a romantic look that is associates with silky frilly lacy dresses of pastel tones.
Let’s not stop you from redefining your romantic look. If you love the color of yellow mustard, use it and make it your own!
The Little White Dress
An angelic look that shows innocence and pure love can be conveyed by sporting the little white dress. In the picture above, the white dress with a belt that drapes over her figure just nicely looks light and airy. Wearing white heels create an ethereal innocence. Her brilliant red mane that falls teasingly in a romantic laid-back hair-do add a distinct contrast.
A dress that works with your body will enhance your soft feminine figure no matter what shape you are. So, remember to pick one that is understanding of your body type.
The Glam Romantic Glittery Princess
Gold and glitters make for a festive romantic combination. If you’re the kind of gal who likes to shine and be in the center of your date’s attention, this is a perfect choice!
Remember to tone down your makeup, making do with soft earthy tones and flush nude lips so as not to overwhelm the whole look. Wear your hair straight or with wavy curls, any way, just how you like it.
Mayo Wo’s Kind Of Romantic
As you’ve probably guessed, I’m a fan of Mayo Wo’s delicate yet quirky fashion taste. Amongst the many choices of soft pastel-y tones that she wears, I chose this one as it shows a sleek kind of romantic look that is so wearable for those who are not too keen on wearing too much pinks and creams.
Combining a dark color of a navy sweater with sheer maxi in tangerine, this get-up is perfect for the practical fuss-free girl. And instead of her usual signature stockinged-feet, Mayo Wo rocks this understated elegance with a pair of golden pumps, carrying a sequined owl purse, throwing in a unique character into the equation.
Wind Blown Careless Hair-Do For the Romantic
Miss Ramirez’s beautiful smile is enough to melt anyone sane and turn a straight girl like me into a blabbering drool face, but with that lace top, sheer asymmetrical skirt in salmon and black heels, she’s ready to stop the traffic. But wait, there’s more apart from the fluffy white doggie that is attention-grabbing. It’s her hair!
Her hair’s tied up in a messy side bun and the hair pieces that frame her face are in a soft romantic curl. And that sure is an easy romantic look ingredient!
Don’t underestimate what a little tweakin’ around with your mane could do for your whole look, girl.
Mayo Wo’s Rosette Romantic
Alright, alright, I just had to share one more romantic fashion look worn by the lovely Mayo Wo, but this time, it’s for the lassies who are mad over pinks, peaches, frills, lace and all of the soft utterly romantic details the ultra feminine is nuts about. Oh yes, how can we not notice that her feet are now back in those cute socks!
The semi sheer rosette top is to die for and if you’re interested to get your hands on it, please head on to Asian Icandy Store before it’s too late! It also comes in black.
The Romantic In Blue
Dresses in soft pinks, peaches and creams have been popularized as being feminine and romantic, but you’ve got to work with colors that you personally like if you want to not only look good but most comfortable in what you wear. The model here, Agata Jurgiel is sporting a simple blue dress with subtle detailing around the neckline, shoulders and waist.
Making sure your nails are painted in your favorite color is also a way to set the mood for your date. Her hair’s pulled up in a messy bun and if my eyes are still functioning correctly, I believe, she’s got a simple braid done to pull the hair away from her face.
Think Flowy And Billowy
Another way to make sure that you’re looking exceptionally romantic for your special date is to wear flowy skirts or dresses. They will not disappoint you. Chloe T. has her hair tied up in a high pony tail that gives an illusion of a longer neck and that’s a perfect way to make your beautiful face stand out.
Wear heels or flats, it really doesn’t matter, as long as they’re in good shape. But don’t wear high heels if you’ve never worn them before! If you’re comfortable, you’re more likely to appear smoulderingly gorgeous. Checking out for blisters every few minutes or wobbling as you walk will turn you into a mess!
The Simple & Sweet Romantic
I’m not sure why I have chosen this dress, but for me, her shiny and silky mane was a giant factor. Remember to moisturize your hair before you head out. There’s something truly effortlessly romantic when a lady has superb hair. The only bling bling she has on is a gold bangle or a couple of ‘em and if that’s not minimalistic and practical, I don’t know what is.
The nude heels are wonderful as they make for the illusion of leaner and longer legs. And notice how the dress actually looks happy that she is wearing it! Okay let me explain:
There’s two types of girls when it comes to the world of appearances: One wears certain clothes in hopes that they would transform her, make her look great. The other one makes the clothes look even better when she’s in it. Ellen H. is definitely the second one. What a beauty!
What do you think of these romantic fashion looks? I hope you’ll use these fashion ideas to look your best as you wow your date this new year.
