Do you feel extraterrestrial, like you don’t quite fit in right here on earth? Take it easy and make a fashion statement that is symbolic to your (hopefully, temporary) state of mind by embracing the alien print trend.
Alien-inspired trend is not so alien in the fashion world. Back in 2011, aliens from far out galaxies became designers’ focus of inspiration as they organized fashion shows, wardrobes and accessories around these rather mystifying otherworldly creatures.
In daily life, it’s natural to compare the feelings of deep disconnect and detachment with the idea that we ourselves, are the aliens. In dreams, appearing as an alien symbolizes the undiscovered part of ourselves. And because the mind is essentially limitless in its ability to stretch imagination, dreaming of aliens may also be an attempt to escape from the known reality and predictable existence.
Symbolism aside, aliens in fashion cater to the side of us that are comfortable with our unique set of eccentricities and that we are perfectly as we should be. Alien prints in the shape of the conventional alien head logo is the easiest to sport. It’s quirky and a quick favorite among the young fashion-conscious crowd.
