Black biker jackets add instant edge into any style of wardrobe. A forever iconic classic outerwear staple, it has been part of countless of outfit iterations. We show you how to wear the biker jacket in an array of fresh and contemporary looks to take you out of the rut.

I am a fan of biker jackets as I think they toughen up any look with that don’t-mess-with-me sass. The menswear-inspired jacket trend is the perfect contrasting piece to introduce into various feminine ensembles. It also fits into all sorts of rebellious punk-ish outfit styles coming from various fashion subcultures that it’s always a plus when present in the least likeliest of getups.

Without further ado, scroll on for the roundup of looks that capture the strikingly modern and fresh style renditions featuring the black biker jacket trend:

leather biker jacket – Smoove | Simone Momberg

A mix of interesting details like ripped jeans, tattoos (faux or genuine), a hat and a peek of lace embroidery elevate this look. Making them all work with a leather biker jacket the way Simone nails it in her look takes what could easily be a basic look right out of its default fashion box.

biker jacket – Live | Rossella Padolino

Another look that capitalizes on a mixture of seemingly opposing fashion elements: cat eyewear, floral pants, wrapped asymmetrical blouse, neon yellow edged trainers all translate into a funky combination that is anchored down by the biker jacket.

jacket – Mango | Milkwoman Johana

There is a world of outfit styles that feature an almost all-black canvas with a peek of stripes. This look, however, teases the viewer with a light-reflecting finish brought out by the fabric mixes coming from the jacket, dungarees, bag and shoes.

suede biker jacket – Missguided | Ellen V. Lora

Nothing spectacular with an outfit made up of denim and tee worn with a biker jacket. But Ellen sure knows how to let the interesting details make hers a distinguished look. Upon closer inspection, you’ll notice that the contrast seams from her jeans are complementary to the zip detailing on her suede biker jacket.

Instead of a laidback shoe, an elegant footwear in the form of strappy pumps eject the casual out of this look. Her bullet embellished cuff and septum ring add to the dark tone of her outfit along with her gothic makeup and pastel hair.

jacket – Miss Selfridge | Jasmin

Bringing it right into the chic and most absolutely wearable territory, Jasmin pops her biker jacket over an almost monochromatic look comprising of a graphic black and white top and black culottes. The queen of classic dressing then gives her outfit a rejuvenating splash of color through the addition of a stunning gradient blue scarf.
