Seoul’s My Little Bijoux Handmade Jewelry Inspiration

Only for lovers of dainty bling: Minimalist, eye-catching handmade jewelry from Seoul, the beating heart of South Korea.

My Little Bijoux (MYLB) is a handmade jewelry shop based in Seoul, South Korea. The creative mind and jeweler behind the shop is a warm, passionate and hard-working 28-year-old Sunny Lee who is a self-confessed lover of horse-riding and wine.

She has been engaged in the jewelry industry for over 5 years, at first as a trader with a jewelry supply company. Delving deeper into the heart of jewelry-making happened later when she bid adieu to her company and started her own jewelry shop. Her past experience working in the jewelry supply chain allows her to locate materials to make jewelry at a significantly affordable cost.

Like many jewelers who have their minds and hands involved in the craft of creating sparkly adornments from scratch, Sunny’s goal is to make affordable jewelry that can be worn by anyone regardless of age and in designs that can be universally embraced and appreciated. The materials that she works with include gold, sterling silver, brass and fabrics.

Focusing her craft on dainty jewelry, her collection is a must-have for those who are into the fine or delicate jewelry fashion trend.

Cats, elephants, foxes, owls and penguins are a few animals that are used as inspiration in her creations. Also present in abundance in her minimalist collection are none other than the much loved geometric shapes like squares, circles, triangles and hexagons. Sunny is inspired by the flora and fauna that make up our natural world and also the stars that dotted our sky and galaxies beyond; her handmade jewelry collection is a reflection of this.

Here is a peek into MYLB’s jewelry collection that I really like from her store:

“Jewelry and pins have been worn throughout history as symbols of power, sending messages. Interestingly enough, it was mostly men who wore the jewelry in various times, and obviously crowns were part of signals that were being sent throughout history by people of rank.”Madeleine Albright
