Fashionista NOW: Minimalist Bohemian Fashion Inspiration

This one’s for the carefree bohemian with a minimalist style. Find TEN boho picks that will instantly upgrade your boho wardrobe.

Do you like wearing comfy loose-fitting clothing with a touch of bohemian? Well, this piece features my favorite items from this one store I just can’t get over how amazing it is because I’m rendered speechless every single time I get their newsletters (yup, I actually follow them like for real) or happen to find myself on the website which I try my hardest not to visit because well, it’s too addictive. I’m talking about Free People!

If you’ve not heard about this awesome store that first entered its online journey on October 2004 (my birth month’s October, wink wink), let me tell you that it’s a place where you get to realize your dreamiest of boho wardrobe dreams.

The soft and ever-flowy silhouettes, the lace and embroidery, the retro mix of vintage and modern will have you quite magnetically drawn in. I blame their visual content, I mean, that is the very first thing that will quickly grab your attention and never let go. And then, magic happens. Your bank account quietly suffers, which thankfully has not yet happened to me!

To give you a taste of what I’m talking about, here’s a roundup of precious finds I’m already daydreaming of wearing:

Free People Soft Legging
SHOP stone blue soft leggings HERE

The leggings are made of comfy stretchy fabric to ensure that your legs will be snugly hugged. The waist is stretchable and I love the ruffled hem and the soft textured look, a cozy way to stay warm yet stylish this season! For those with heavier legs, I advise getting an extra size up from your regular one. Scared if the knit has an itchy feel? Nope, they are heavenly soft!

Free People Stripe Bell Sleeve Buttondown

SHOP stripe bell sleeve buttondown HERE

The bell sleeves with ruffles had me at hello! I like that this button-down is made of pure cotton and the pinstripes are barely-there-looking that it can be worn easily for both work and play.

By now, you’d notice that Free People’s clothing style is centered much upon soft, relaxed-fit and flowy pieces that are in line with their love with the free-spirit who is easily associated with flexibility.

Free People Leather Harness Vest at Free People Clothing Boutique

SHOP leather harness vest HERE

What I love about this body chain style accessory is that it serves to spice up any white tees and tops you have. And with flowy tops in particularly, the leather harness injects the right amount of edge. This one carries metal studs, buckles and most importantly, adjustable!

Free People Birds of a Feather Cami

SHOP birds of feather cami HERE

The sheer look of this cami is made unique and beautiful with the presence of an intricate mesh embroidery that decorates the sleeve and hem edges. This will be a great layering piece where peeks of delicate mesh can add that potent unexpected visual appeal into your bohemian wardrobe.

Free People Jaquard Sammy Kimono

SHOP jacquard sammy kimono HERE

Breezy looks and fringe will be huge come spring/summer. This gauzy cocoon-style kimono can act as a light outerwear that drapes over your outfit casting soft fringe-y shadows on the ground. This is a bohemian must-have!

Free People Sloppy Pocket Cardigan

SHOP sloppy pocket cardigan HERE

Here’s another slouchy outerwear that oozes easy styling. You can layer this over anything for cozy comfort and carefree dressing. I am of course, smitten with the texture and length. That it has that textured look and ‘sloppy’ front pockets is making my heart flutter with desire. Great, I’ll be dreaming of this cardi later tonight! Thanks, FP.

Free People Easy Swing Dress

SHOP easy swing dress HERE

A fan of effortless dresses that ooze nostalgic flair of the eras past? This swing dress in ‘curry’ has that vibe going on. A perfect flare-out dress to wear for strolls at the seaside or the mall. This dress is 100% cotton, has a keyhole front opening and a raw hem detailing.

Free People Trinity Shrug Sweater

SHOP trinity shrug sweater HERE

This shrug sweater is so perfect that I am struggling to even type right now because all I want to do is to stare at it and wish it to transport itself from the model’s shoulder and on mine. Thrown over an off-white/cream outfit, the textures add a layer of a cozy and sophisticated finish. Are you drooling as I am too?

Free People Vegan Tooled Wallet

Free People Vegan Tooled Wallet

I just had to feature these vegan tooled wallets as they are obviously stunning! Take a look at the elaborate detailing on them. Don’t you feel something like a calling coming from the screen? Haha, I’m ridiculous but seriously, though, I want this! Anyway, made of vegan leather, the bag can be worn as a crossbody, clutch or wristlet as the strap is removable!

Oh, did you catch the fringe accent? Yes, they are the stuff a bohemian dream’s made of!

Wait; there’s more! Free People has loads of bohemian-looking bags that will leave you drooling and I am not kidding or remotely exaggerating! Check out their NEED-TO-KNOW BAGS for 2015 HERE and tell me what you think!
