Fashionista NOW: Six Fashion Trends I’m Not Keen About

Find out six fashion trends that are a sight for sore eyes. Keep in mind that these are just my subjective thoughts on an equally subjective topic that everyone has an opinion of!

Firstly, let me start off that the fashion images accompanying this piece are solely for the depiction of the specific fashion trend(s) that I am not too keen about.

These lookbookers carry off their own style pretty well that their overall looks have nothing to do with the fashion piece that I am zooming on about. So take it easy!

Anyway, without further ado, check out six fashion trends that just don’t sit well with lil’ old me (and I do realize that this is far from earth-shattering…)

Chunky Clunky Heels

These litas or lita-like heels are artsy, no doubt about it. Great for fashion on the runways and fashion photography but it’s pretty clear that they’re not sensible footwear. They make the wearer looks clunky at the feet and they add a clown-like vibe to the whole look. The topping off of any look with these chunky tripping-hazard shoes gets a minus point from me.

Diaper-esque Shorts

Young ladies wearing this type of shorts are usually leggy but I never can get the first impression out of the recesses of my mind. The diaper-esque shorts are not appealing. I don’t know how this style came about but upon googling, the complaints about diaper shorts started to crop from 2009 so it’s still at the early stages.

Shorts that give off this diaper vibe usually look like they’re worn pulled a little bit too high up on the wearer that there’s a camel toe effect going on. But no one talks about it. Unless they’re sporting leggings. Pretty curious, right?

Shorts That Are Barely Shorts

Barely-there shorts are just uncomfortable to wear especially out in public when your bottom becomes a little parade of its own. If it’s crossing the boundary into the underwear zone, let’s just keep it there.

Chunky Flower Headband

Headbands with huge flowers are not comfortable and appealing in my book. Subtle flower detailing is tolerable but chunky flowers are best left decorating vases on tables at your grandma’s. Leave your head be, girl!

Slithering Snake Prints

I do not have a snake phobia but there’s something inexplicably eeky about snake prints. I saw a snake printed yoga mat the other day and the sight of the faux scales made me jumpy. Not something I’d wear willingly!

Pants With Holes

Yes, the old hipster look of barely-making-it yet there they are with their distressed jeans and vintage blouses borrowed from their granny’s closet. No, please no, pants with holes are atrocious especially when they’re purposely made!

What do you think of these trends? Do you share similar thoughts or am I just not hip enough for today’s liberal standards of fashion? Please reveal your opinions below. We’d love to hear from you!
