Fashionista NOW: Romantic Dress Ideas For Valentine’s Day 2012

Valentine’s Day 2012 is a peep around the corner and whether we’d like to admit or not, ladies, we want to look good for that someone special on that romantic date.

I know it’s a bit too soon to start sharing Valentine’s fashion ideas but for those who are excited and can’t wait to look their best on V-day would appreciate this humble gesture of love.

The aim of this piece is to provide you with a variety of dress ideas for you to pick from. And it’s going to include a wide choices from vintage glam, retro to modern contemporary ideas.

I promise you that the dress ideas will not be limited to the color pink or its derivative tones. For those who are into the whole pink theme, there will be a separate posting that’s dedicated to it!

Now, let’s scroll down for some V-day dress ideas, shall we?

The Retro Polka Dot Dress

If you love dressing in the styles of past years, this dress makes for a perfect choice. The heart-shaped purse and the polka dot red heels add a quirky element to the whole look. Personally, what makes this look stand is Kaylah’s short haircut. You can tell that it lends an innate out-of-the-box element that complements the dress. The lovely polka-dot dress is from sheinside.com if you’re interested to find out more about it.

Tangerine And Gold Combo

For those who embrace the color orange and its derivatives, you can try finding for a dress or a tunic top like the one Clara is sporting. Her gold wedges complete the simple look and her funky red glasses add a touch of spontaneity.

And here’s another tangerine dress worn by the pretty Anastasia Siantar. Remember to add a skinny belt if the dress is not figure-flaunting by nature. You don’t want the dress to erase your waistline.

Lacy Vintage-y Dress

Lace and ruffles are commonly associated with the ultra feminine. If it’s a natural tendency for you to lean on the vintage inspired looks, then the dress worn by Olivia Lopez is a great inspiration to base your thoughts on.

Stick with intricate lace designs that are subtle instead of big chunky ones to create the soft romantic look and make sure your heels are not competing for attention. Keep them in colors closest to your skin tone.

Aubergine Polka Dot Tutu Dress

Mayo Wo is a trend-setting fashionista and when it comes to romantic soft looks, she has a way of making any outfit that she wears look extremely gorgeous. In this case, the tutu dress is seamlessly transformed. She’s holding a lacy rose purse and her stockinged feet are snug in mocha brown bow heels.

Python Print Dress For The Bold Romantic

Chloe Ting looks especially stunning in this python dress and gorgeous python lita by Jeffrey Campbell. Channeling her inner vampire, she has on a dark red lipstick that completely transforms her usual sweet and adorable aura into a sexy and confident one.

For those who are addicted to the fashion styles and trends worn by Miss Chloe, you’d be very delighted to know that she has started making videos on YouTube!

Here’s one of her latest fashion videos showcasing her outfit of the day (OOTD):

The Shapeless Black Dress

Not everyone’s going to like wearing a dress that’s comparable to a gunny sack but hey, if you can pull it off, why not eh? The stunning Kryz Uy is wearing a black dress purchased at stephiesays.com and her black pointy heels would have looked equally stunning without the blue socks but by including the blue socks, the color brings a nice contrast to the all-black ensemble.

And I heart the hearts pasted on the wall at the back!

The Outfit That Looks Like A Dress But Is Not

And here’s another one by Miss Kryz who is wearing a black collared blouse with hearts paired with polka dot shorts. The purple wedges speak for themselves. Which depends on your love or hate for thick shoes. Although I will never be able to walk in those, I just thought the design is pretty amazing.

So ladies, are you getting even more excited after looking at these fashion photos? Well I hope you are and that they help to spark an idea or two as you find for the perfect outfit to wear this Valentine’s.

More Valentine’s fashion ideas coming in the next post. Till, then. Take care!
