Fashionista NOW: Peplum Trend Charms Fashion Forward Trendsetters

Peplums are a significant resurging trend in fashion this year.

With a modern chic take on the 80’s big shoulders and big hips cut, which was then more prominently masculine in its cut at the time, we’re are seeing an embracing of delicate feminine designs in our current peplum trend.

Brilliant Britain fashion consultant, Yasmin Sewell said that anything that comes in at the waist and kicks out feels really right and forward, in her interview with The Cut.

Echoing her adoration for that cinch-and-flare silhouettes, I’ve round up the peplum looks from my favorite lookbookers as they dazzle in their brilliant peplum tops, skirts and dresses. I hope they inspire you!

Gotta say our thank yous to the Greeks for introducing the peplos in 800 BC that’s taken the fashion world by storm, don’t you think?!

P.S. Even our baju kurung has taken to the peplum design that it’s become quite a favorite here in Malaysia.
