Fashionista NOW: Clouds In Fashion? Are Cloud Prints In Style?

Nature has always been a major fashion inspiration to fashion designers. We’ve seen animal, floral, and galaxy prints basking in the limelight. It’s only apt that clouds which decorate our skyline get highlighted as well.

Leighton Meester dressed herself up in a cloud print maxi dress from the Carven Resort 2012 collection as she attended Tiffany & Co’s Fashion’s Night Out late last year.

Earlier this year, Alesha Dixon (of Britain’s Got Talent) was spotted in a structured cloud printed dress with cutout details as she worked the red carpet at BFI Southbank in London.

So: Are cloud prints on trend now? While galaxy prints have taken off quite impressively this year, prints that carry the shape of clouds are yet to gather a grand following.

However, taking a peek from the street fashion shared on lookbook, it’s clear as the blue sky that clouds are gradually making an impression among the print-loving fashion trendsetters. At this point, it is a little too early to conclude if the puffy clouds are comparable to the likes of leopard and galaxy prints.

For those who are seeking to add a fresh new print into your wardrobe, cloud prints clothing seen on leggings, tops, skirts or dresses will satisfy your taste for breaking the intangible limits in fashion. Fashion in 2012, without a doubt, are utterly print-crazy and wildly experimental.
