Fashionista NOW: 5 Mesmerizing Ways to Wear Red As Accent Fashion Inspiration

Accent your wardrobe with a bold shade of red and bring back verve and spark this season.

Aurora red, in particular has been named by self-proclaimed color authority Pantone as a sophisticated color to don this Autumn and it is a color that is said to add verve and spark into our collective wardrobes as we transition into the cooler part of the year.

As I ogle the color through the website, I’m certain that it’s just another fancy name for any bold red color so you need not confine yourself with a self-imposed tonal limit. Red is such an intense color that a peek of it even on the lips or nails is bound to add a flavor into a look or at the very least, give it a certain boost of energy and character. Red is after all, a color of passion and power; a little of it does go a long way.

If you’re looking to spice up your wardrobe with a bold red without committing to it as a primary color, why not embrace it as strategically-placed accents in your wardrobe?

Need a little inspiration? Below are our favorite looks courtesy of LOOKBOOK that effectively utilize a spark of red as an accent color that will hopefully be helpful:

red pants with small prints – Mango

Go one red piece at a time. A pair of pants rendered in subtle prints on a red background is to be paired with a neutral top. Nga Wendy chooses a roomy crop top in white to go with the statement pants and chunky-soled sandals and a black fedora hat to tie the look together.

red, black and white plaid shirt – Forever 21

Embrace red through a signature plaid shirt that is worn over a white tee that features the Eye of Horus symbol. Baggy boyfriend jeans and black ankle boots complete the bottom part of Randi’s laidback look.

red bag

Make a bag statement by opting one that is in striking shiny red. Yana chooses to coordinate it with a chic neutral wardrobe consisting of a white collared shirt half tucked into muted gray knee-length pants. Black and white tribal ankle strap heels tease in a little visual interest.

vintage rose print pencil skirt

A midi pencil skirt imbued with intense red rose prints on a black background makes for the perfect partner to a fitted black crop top, black quilted bag and black strappy sandals. Brittney’s modern vintage look is polished further with minimal jewelry and a pair of round-framed sunnies.

red top – Follow My Eyes

A black, white and red color combination is timeless. Margo swaps white with beige in this minimal color-block attire with the major focus on the red.
