Fashionista Now: 7 Ways To Bare Your Shoulders Loud & Proud

Because you have flauntable shoulders and cute collar bones and you want them to shine under the summer sun. Find out how you can make shoulders the highlight of your summer wardrobe while giving your skin some free tan.

Off the shoulder tops and dresses are so summer-worthy it is time for you to let loose and let the light shine on those sweet clavicles. I admit it’s a trend I’m a little bit unsure to approach as I have this fear that the top or dress will somehow just fall off of me. And the fact that it’s best to wear the off-the-shoulder pieces with strapless bras makes it even more of a challenge that I’m just too lazy to tackle. However, I do think that a light padded bandeau or tube top could provide an easy solution and I might give this summer fashion trend a go but we’ll see.

For those of you who prefer to wear bras with clear straps, that can be done too but I personally find that the straps are obviously still visible to the naked eye that it will detract from the carefree bared shoulder look. But then again, that’s your choice to make. And isn’t it awesome that we all get to make our own style choices? A better bra style would be the stick-on type like this one, don’t you think?.

While there are many fitted tops and dresses with the off the shoulder feature, I am more inclined to try the boho-inspired ruffly floaty top variety the kind that Maria, — a Spanish fashion blogger who is addicted to DIY — is wearing as seen in the post’ intro picture above. Check out how she transforms plain sandals into a summer-worthy number with floral appliques you too can do at home!

“Fashion is something you attach to yourself, put on, and through that interaction the meaning of it is born. Without the wearing of it, it has no meaning, unlike a piece of art. It is fashion because people want to buy it now, because they want to wear it now, today. Fashion is only the right now.”Rei Kawakubo

  • I’m starting to like these bare-shoulders tops and dresses. I first saw it on a few big bloggers such as Nicole Warne and Blair from Atlantic-Pacific. I totally love how Nicole wore her bare-shoulders tops. Definitely a great summer go-to outfit =)
