Just what do you wear with a pair of flowy palazzo pants to keep your look fresh and updated this year? Find 7 stylish palazzo outfit ideas here.
One of the trends I’m excited to wear for no other reason aside from the fact that they conjure memories of the teenager that I was — and as a practical way to give my legs a break from fitted jeans and trousers — comes in the form of the breezy and flowy palazzo pants!
My first post on this wide-leg faux maxi skirt style was 3 years ago and already subtle new ways of wearing the palazzo pants have cropped up with one of the top styles to wear with such a voluminous pants being boxy and cropped!
You can see the evidence of this small yet visible change in the styling of the palazzo pants for yourself by taking a look at the post I shared back in 2012. The way the palazzo pants was styled back then centered on the appeal of keeping the top fitted to offset the flowy bulk down below.
This year, the tops are roomy, worn half-tucked in and even cropped, paired with torso-elongating high-waisted palazzo pants.
With the variety of crop(and shorter) tops in boxy shapes at our disposal and the comfort-with-style aesthetics brought on by the normcore and sporty fashion trends, the style options to consider when wearing the palazzo pants have delightfully increased. A slouch-on-slouch silhouette is no longer a fashion faux pass when styled artfully.
For a look at how the fashion-savvy are currently wearing their palazzo pants this year, scroll on away and note how much more relaxed the tops are in comparison to the ones the fashionistas were wearing in 2012.

“I do think that you can dress yourself out of a problem. The way that a haircut and a new pair of pants can make you feel is better than any therapist, because when you look in the mirror, you see a different person – you are a different person. It’s superficial change that can lead to real change.” — Greg Behrendt
